Physical Education

‘To Be The Best You Can Be’

PE at St Andrew’s

The National Curriculum states that all children should receive a high-quality physical education curriculum which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It goes on to explain that our curriculum should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness as well as competing in competitive situations to build character and embed values such as fairness and respect.

How we learn

At St Andrew’s School we fulfil the National Curriculum’s expectations. All children in KS1 and KS2 complete two hours of quality PE each week with a full-time external PE coach. Our children are engaged in a varied and challenging range of activities which promote good health, team spirit and physical development.

In additional to the weekly PE lesson, we offer lunch time sports clubs three times a week, after school clubs and holiday sports clubs to support our children’s enthusiasm for PE.
