What's going on in Cherry Class?

Welcome back Cherry Class!

I hope you all had a lovely summer.

Our first topic is Frantic Pharaohs. We will become historians and will learn all about the Ancient Egyptians and their Frantic Pharaohs in order to answer our topic question "Who do you think you are?"

Every Friday your child will be sent home with some maths homework based on the learning we have done in class and a times table grid. If your child is stuck or has been busy over the weekend, then please encourage them to ask me for help.

Spelling tests will take place each Monday and children will be issued with new spellings which will be taught throughout the week. Spelling books will be sent home on a Friday so that children can practice ready for the test Monday.

Reading is an incredibly important part of a child's education. It helps them to develop their language and writing skills not just in Literacy but across the curriculum. Pupils will be recognised and rewarded through our Champion Reader Scheme. The expectation for reading at home is 3 times a week.

I have attached the Topic Curriculum Grid and Topic Homework Grid for our first topic below.

If you have any questions, do not hestitate to contact me.
