Girls Football Tournament October 2013

The first few matches the girls were finding their positions on the pitch against very tough competitors. However the girls battled hard and with sheer determination scored a cracking 2 goals giving the girls a well deserved win.
The girls should be very proud considering this was their first ever game - competing against teams already playing in a girls football league.  Well done girls!

Football Tournament Review by William

On the 17th of October we took part in the County Finals 7-a-side Football Tournament. Unfortunately we came 4th in our group. We played very well and deserved to win the tournament, we all received certificates.

We really enjoyed it and would love to do it again and all the cheering helped as we had a lot of support.

My Experience of the Football Tournament by Jonathan

On October 17th we took part in the County Finals of the 7-a-side football tournament.  Unfortunately we came 4th and we didn’t win.

In the first match I scored and it went straight into the keeper’s right hand corner.  At half time I came off and to my disappointment we let two goals in.

In the next game, at last we won and by a few as well, Finley scored first with a great goal, he hit it as hard as he could and it almost broke the net.  Then Jacob scored another great goal.  Then Spencer got tripped up in the box and we got a penalty. Spencer took it and smacked it right into the bottom corner.  After that the ball came to me in the air, on my weaker foot; I smacked it right into the bottom corner.

Then we came to our rivals, Gosfield, and we lost again.  We didn’t deserve to lose, mainly because the team that won the whole tournament we drew with and I scored a goal that went overthe line, however as the ref couldn’t see it, it didn’t count.  Overall the best thing that the team can take out of it is the experience.
