St Andrew's Church Christmas Tree Festival

Once again this year all classes will be taking part in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew's Church. Each class will submit a tree decorated in homemade decorations. The judging for the competition takes place on Saturday 6th December with the winners announced at 3:45pm. This will be followed by a candle lit procession from the Church to the Green opposite the Reading Rooms where there will be Carols around the Tree.

Dance Shows

Well done to all the children who took part in the fantastic dance shows on Wednesday and Thursday. The quality of the dancing was very impressive and the children have worked incredibly hard. A big well done to Mrs Smith & Mrs Young who produced such a fantastic performance with the children!

Travelling Nativity

The history of the travelling nativity is based on an old Mexican tradition called

“POSADA” – making room for Jesus this Christmas. In Mexico young people dress as Mary and Joseph and they travel from place to place. Wherever they spend the night they bring the message of Christmas and invite their hosts to make room for Jesus at Christmas.

We will begin out tour at the start of Advent and finish at the end of term. Then the nativity will be taken to St Andrew’s Church in time for our Carol Service at 2.00pm.
1st December - Oak Class
4th December - Horse Chestnut
9th December - Cherry Class
12th December - Apple Class
17th December - Mulberry Class
Our “Messy Nativity” will be in Church on Christmas Eve at 2.00pm
