E Safety Week
Posted : Tue 10th Feb 2015
This week we are learning about e-safety in a special themed week in school. All classes will have lessons on being safe online, the whole school took part in an assembly on Monday and Horse Chestnut & Oak Tree are exploring some videos aimed at teaching them further information about online safety. As parents and carers there is so much you can do to support your child in this area. If you visit the NSPCC website and go to the 'Preventing Abuse' section there is information on their campaign called 'Share Aware as well as information on online safety and cyber bullying. Please take some time to visit the website and find out how best to support your child. Thank you :-)

The trip to the o2…
On the 28th January nineteen children travelled up to London for a Young Voices choir concert at the brilliant o2. Many famous people were there; Lucy Spraggan, a street dance group named Urban Strides and also much more. The host of it was a person called Gigi and the conductor was a man called David. There were 7592 children there. Plus we sat at the front of the top layer and could have fallen down if we jumped too high. The Urban Strides street dance group performed a dance which all 7592 kids had to copy. There were many adults who turned up (it was quite embarrassing when they started dancing as well, and was also embarrassing when they sang the songs they knew because they heard us singing ourselves). Lucy Spraggan sang a song called ‘Unsinkable’. Whilst she was singing we noticed that she had a broken leg and a Beckham boot on it! On our way back we were exhausted and tired because every school had to wait inside. When we eventually arrived on the coach nearly everyone fell asleep. Then we got to school again at 00:01. It was a great experience and we hope to do it again!!!!!!!

Wow what a fantastic event we had this morning! A huge well done to all the children who did a fabulous job at completing their laps, a thank you to Mrs Smith, Mr Power and the Sports Leaders for organising the event and an even bigger thank you for the amazing amount of support we received from parents and families! I was particularly proud of the team support the children showed each other, the teachers and LSAs who supported individual children around and the determination showed by pupils who just wouldn't give in! What a great morning!

Well done to the Choir who had a fantastic trip to the O2 on Wednesday to sing at Young Voices. They all had a fantastic time and their behaviour was superb. A big thank you must go to Mrs Martin, Mrs Saunders & Mrs Waller for organising and supporting on the day!
