Boys L2 Football Qualifying Competition

On Thursday 15th October we took part in our first competition of the new school year. Our boy’s football team took part in the Hedingham hub tournament, we got off to a flying start winning our first 3 matches and not conceding goals at all. The boys worked together exceptionally well and we saw some fantastic goals and outstanding defending.

We were through to the semi-final where we met St Peter's, Sible Hedingham. After a well fought battle we unfortunately lost 1-0 and therefore didn’t make the final. Our spirits were not dampened and the boys showed great maturity, held their
heads high and played for a win in third postion. A good start to our sporting year, well done team.

Sports Clubs

Sports clubs will all begin again after half term. Please view the school clubs page to find out what is on each day.

New Team Names

This term we have decided to relaunch our team points in school. The School Council were given the first task of asking their classes about possible team names and then worked together to come up with a new series of names. The names they have chosen are as follows:

Woodpeckers become the Green Emeralds
Kingfishers  become the Blue Sapphires
Robins become the Red Rubies
Goldfinches become the Yellow Ambers
We aim to be holding many more team competitions this year and the first begins with a competition to design a new badge/shield or logo for their team. Children can create a design based on the team name and also on the qualities that they feel their team may need to have e.g. compassion, strength, resilience etc.. The deadline for the entries to be in is Monday 12th October and they need to be given to the school Councillors.

Congratulations to Cohen!

A huge congratulations to Cohen who competed in the Regional Setwork Qualifiers at Elite Grade Level 1 on Sunday. He came 3rd on floor apparatus and 5th overall which secured him a place on the East Region Elite Squad. This will mean that he will be representing our region at the National Finals in Birmingham in November. Well done Cohen we are all very proud of you!

The Harvest Festival will now take place at 11am on Thursday 1st October instead of 10am. This is to ensure that Apple Tree have returned from swimming. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope that you can still join us in the Church.
