Friends of St Andrews PTA meeting, Great Yeldham 

Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 6th July  2010 at 9am

Present:  Sarah Lowe,  Kealy Saunders, Michelle Coburn

Apologies:  Ms Trappitt, Mel Lilley, Claire Bowden, Bill Rutter

Minutes of the last meeting dated 8th June 2010 were agreed.

Sports Day: It was noted that the nail painting and face painting did not go well as most of the children were swimming or enjoying the refreshments. The BBQ and other refreshments were very popular.  An accurate figure of how much money was raised will be obtained at the next meeting from Claire.

Hawiian Disco: Tuesday 20th July 3.30 – 5pm. Tickets will be £2 including refreshments and a snack. Bill is going to do the refreshments and the tickets, hopefully ready to go on sale from Monday 12th July. Mel is going to provide a drinks fountain which we can fill with fruit punch or squash, and also source some decorations for the hall. Sarah is going to organise the music, using her ipod and speakers from home as at the last disco the amplifier over heated. The ipod and speakers will be tested out first to make sure they are loud enough for the hall. Sarah is going to send out request slips for the year 6’s so they can chose some of the songs, as it’s their leaving party as well. The disco light’s will also be put up – Sarah to borrow from her friend. Michelle is going to look on ebay to see if we can get some flower garlands cheap enough to be able to give each of the children one as they enter the disco. She is going to get back to us on that one. Michelle also offered to bring a long stick up so that we could do some ‘Limbo’ dancing. Claire is going to purchase the crisps. Kealy and Michelle both offered their help on the day. Ann Hargreaves is going to speak to the staff about supporting the event as well. A note has been left on the noticeboard in the staff room.

It was agreed that we would meet up in the hall for 1.15pm to set up. Sarah to speak to Ms Trappitt to make sure the hall is not in use in the afternoon.
