‘Together we can make a difference’
Governing Bodies are no longer required to provide an Annual Report to Parents or hold an Annual Parent Meeting and we feel that this has effectively removed parents and carers from the Governor/School/Home partnership. We have decided to trial a Parent Forum, where parents can meet with Governors and staff representatives to discuss current issues and future initiatives and hopefully feel they can become more involved in shaping the school. I am aware that holding a meeting in school time automatically bars participation to working parents and carers; and it’s this kind of issue we hope to address by discussing school/home communication as a starting point. The Chair of Governors will discuss these issues with the Headteacher and report the outcomes.
