Vision Statement

The Staff and Governing body of St Andrew’s C of E (VC) Primary School aim to educate each child to the highest level of attainment, having regard to his or her aptitude and ability, with particular emphasis on motivation through interest and direct experience.  We aim for pupils to be confident, creative and productive within a full and broad curriculum.  A variety of learning styles will be fostered to develop and sustain a sense of wonder and discovery, a delight in learning and achievement and a curiosity about the world.

Starting with the early years it is crucial for a child to develop a healthy, well-motivated attitude towards learning, good social skills, a keen and caring moral awareness and a positive self-image.  The early years should provide the child with a sound, solid platform on which future education will be based.

St Andrew’s is a fully inclusive school.  We aim for pupils to value themselves and others, respect religious and cultural diversity, difference, abilities and disabilities.  Pupils will take responsibility and be responsible in school and within the wider community, including caring for the environment.

All adults involved in the life of the school will receive ongoing professional development, to remain forward looking and skilled in what they do, which will endeavour to make the school accountable for its success.  We will show a commitment to change and new technology.

We will work positively with parents, governors and the wider community to meet the needs of all pupils.  There will be a definite commitment within the school to encourage as much parental participation as possible.
